Position: CNC Machinist -  Fabrication Shop

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Machinist to join our team at a heat exchanger fabrication shop. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to fabricate precision components for heat exchangers. Your expertise in machining and attention to detail will be essential in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our products.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and prepare CNC machines, including selecting appropriate tools, loading materials, and configuring machine settings.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand machining requirements.
• Program CNC machines using CAM software or manually inputting commands to accurately produce required components.
• Conduct test runs to ensure proper functioning of the machine and make necessary adjustments or modifications.
• Operate CNC machines to perform precision machining operations, such as milling, drilling, turning, and threading.
• Monitor machining processes and make ongoing adjustments to maintain product quality, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
• Troubleshoot machine issues and perform routine maintenance tasks, such as tool changes, coolant refills, and machine cleaning.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes and improve overall efficiency.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintain accurate records of machine settings, tool usage, production output, and any maintenance performed.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in CNC machining technologies.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, preferably in a heat exchanger fabrication or similar manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in operating and setting up CNC machines, including programming and tool selection.
• Strong knowledge of machining principles, techniques, and processes.
• Familiarity with CAM software and G-code programming.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality components.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials or tools as required.
