Company located in Flanders, NJ is currently looking for a Payroll Specialist on a Temporary to Hire basis.
Maintain all payroll files in a neat and orderly fashion.
Assist client's in transition and set up of new payroll systems
Document process and procedures for processing client payrolls
Understand proper state and local tax issues and assist client in setting up as needed
Perform daily payroll department operations including new hire set ups, changes, terminations, garnishment processing, tax filings, etc.
Process Review hours/PTO/expenses for reasonableness before processing payrolls
Understand and process benefit deductions.
Manage work flow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
Perform compliance for unclaimed property payroll checks.
Process manual checks as needed.
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission to verify accuracy
Resolve payroll conflicts
Respond to any questions from employees applicable to payroll i.e.; salary, deductions, etc.
Provide Finance with payroll reports for accounting, 401(k), and FSA reporting requirements.
Prepare payroll reports for all clients: compensation, turnover, PTO usage.
Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
Review quarterly report packages for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Administer imputed income and third party sick pay
Process year-end reporting in preparation for W-2s.
Respond to garnishment and unemployment requests.
Qualified candidates must have the following:
Five years payroll processing
Three years of quarter and yearend close processing
ADP products (Pay eXpert, PayForce, ezLabor Manager, HRB and ADP Reporting)
Mangrove Workforce Empowerment product
Analyzing, processing and responding to garnishments
Filing for and setting up state and local (PA and NY) tax jurisdictions
Understanding state tax reciprocity rules
Strong math and analytical skills
Highly organized with exceptional attention to details.
Sense of urgency with regard to completion of assigned tasks within established timelines.
Solve problems under pressure.
Interface with clients and employees in a professional, businesslike manner.
Collaborate with internal team members to achieve goals.
Adjust interpersonal skills to meet the needs of a diverse client base.
High School Diploma or GED
Bachelors Degree is a Plus

Day Time Hours
$20-$30 per hour depending on experience
