Are you an experienced Punch Press Setup Operator looking for a hands-on manufacturing position? A Springfield-area manufacturer is seeking a skilled Punch Press Setup Operator to perform machine setups, troubleshoot tooling issues, maintain quality standards, and support production operations.

Pay

• $19.00-$21.00 per hour
• Based on experience

Schedule

• Monday-Friday
• 5:30 AM - 3:00 PM
• Full-Time

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate punch presses using single-hit dies
• Troubleshoot setup issues and perform minor die repairs
• Set up assembly equipment including riveters, clinchers, and tapping machines
• Move, install, align, and remove medium-sized dies
• Make setup adjustments to ensure efficient production
• Read and interpret blueprints and production work orders
• Inspect parts using micrometers, depth micrometers, vernier calipers, and scales
• Complete Statistical Process Control (SPC) documentation and attribute charts
• Update production records and work orders accurately
• Safely operate hand tools and measuring equipment
• Maintain quality, productivity, and safety standards

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of punch press setup experience required
• Experience with single-hit dies and die setup
• Ability to troubleshoot tooling and setup issues
• Experience with assembly equipment setups preferred
• Blueprint reading skills required
• Experience using precision measuring tools
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Preferred Skills

• Tool and die experience
• Manufacturing setup technician experience
• Quality inspection experience
• SPC knowledge or willingness to learn
• Production documentation experience
