Our client in Cedar Rapids, IA is looking for a CDL Tandem Truck Driver!

Position Summary: This is a 2-month contract position supporting a large construction and excavation project at the Alliant Energy Prairie Creek facility. The CDL Tandem Truck Driver will operate a tandem-axle dump truck to transport dredged/excavated material from the active construction area to a designated disposal site or basin approximately one mile away. This is primarily short-distance construction-site hauling rather than an over-the-road driving position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a tandem-axle dump truck to transport dredged and excavated materials.
• Make repeated short-distance trips between the construction area and disposal site/basin.
• Safely maneuver through an active construction site around heavy equipment, trucks, and ground crews.
• Operate the truck on public roadways and rugged or uneven construction-site terrain.
• Complete detailed pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections each day.
• Maintain accurate daily hauling logs and fuel documentation.
• Follow all DOT, company, and job-site safety requirements.

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A or Class B CDL with air brake endorsement.
• Clean motor vehicle record with no recent major violations.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid DOT medical examiner's card.
• Must be able to meet DOT and random drug-testing requirements.
• Previous tandem dump truck, construction hauling, excavation, or similar driving experience is preferred.
• Must be comfortable driving and maneuvering within an active heavy-construction environment.

Hours:

• Monday–Friday
• 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
• 2-Month contract assignment

Pay:

• $30/hour
