Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals – Southeast Phoenix is recruiting a Deburr Technician / Metal Polisher for a precision manufacturing company in Tempe, AZ.

This hands-on position is responsible for deburring, polishing, buffing, and finishing metal components to meet strict cosmetic and dimensional specifications. The ideal candidate has experience operating polishing equipment, producing consistent surface finishes, and preparing precision metal parts for nickel and gold plating.

Key Responsibilities

Polish, buff, deburr, and finish metal components to customer specifications, including critical mirror finishes.
Operate high-speed buffers, Beiter polishing machines, bead blasters, belt sanders, grinders, and other finishing equipment.
Prepare metal components before and after nickel and gold plating.
Remove burrs, scratches, pits, and other surface imperfections.
Inspect finished components for cosmetic defects, surface consistency, and workmanship.
Read and follow technical drawings, work instructions, and finishing specifications.
Perform routine equipment cleaning, safety checks, and minor maintenance.
Document completed work and report quality or equipment concerns.
Collaborate with plating, quality, and production teams to meet production goals.

Required Qualifications

1–2 years of experience in metal polishing, deburring, metal finishing, plating, or a related manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience using polishing, buffing, or metal finishing equipment.
Ability to identify cosmetic defects and produce consistent surface finishes.
Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
Basic computer skills for production documentation and data entry.
High school diploma or GED.
Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience producing mirror finishes on precision metal components.
Familiarity with high-speed buffers, Beiter polishing machines, bead blasters, or similar equipment.
Experience preparing components for nickel, gold, or other metal plating processes.
Knowledge of polishing compounds, abrasives, and surface finish standards.
Experience working in an ISO or quality-controlled manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Ability to stand for extended periods, potentially 8–12 hours per shift.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Manual dexterity to handle small or delicate precision components.
Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
Comfortable working around machine noise, heat, polishing compounds, and airborne dust.
Ability to safely operate high-speed equipment and wear required personal protective equipment.
