The Field Service Technician is responsible for the preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of CNC and industrial equipment at customer and government sites. Much of this work is performed under U.S. Government preventive maintenance contracts, which cover scheduled PM and reactive service on CNC and industrial machinery at military installations and other government facilities, along with commercial PM contracts and service calls as scheduled.
The position coordinates with the Service Manager, the Lead Technician, and the Program Manager on scheduling, parts, and reporting, and is accountable for completing scheduled visits on time, documenting every visit, and meeting contract response times. This position also supports the Nellis AFB paint booth maintenance contract in Las Vegas, Nevada. The contract requires a 12 hour response to emergency service calls and a 48 hour response to unscheduled service calls, and meets those response times with whichever technician is available. The Field Service Technician may not always be the technician sent to Nellis AFB, but if they are the only available technician, they will be assigned the call and are expected to respond within the contract time frame.
This is a travel-forward position with regular overnight travel. When not scheduled for field service, the technician works from the San Diego shop supporting the manufacturing team with machine maintenance, setup support, and equipment troubleshooting.
