Groundskeeper - MCI Airport

Salary: $20/hr.

We are seeking dependable, hardworking Groundskeepers to assist with maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of Kansas City International Airport (MCI) grounds. This position involves a combination of indoor and outdoor responsibilities, including trash removal, power washing, sweeping, and general grounds maintenance.

Ideal candidates are comfortable working in various weather conditions, performing physical labor, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness in a busy airport environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect, remove, and properly dispose of trash and debris from designated airport areas.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed
• Perform power washing of sidewalks, walkways, entrances, and other designated surfaces
• Sweep and clean sidewalks, parking areas, curbs, and surrounding grounds
• Remove litter, leaves, and other debris from airport property
• Assist with general groundskeeping and routine maintenance tasks
• Operate basic cleaning equipment, power washers, and hand tools safely
• Identify and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or damaged property
• Complete other general cleaning and groundskeeping duties as needed

 

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be able to meet applicable airport security and background and drug screening requirements
• Previous groundskeeping, janitorial, landscaping, or general maintenance experience preferred but not required
• Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors throughout the shift
• Ability to work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed
• Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
