CNC Operator (Mill and Lathe)

Salary: $27.00 - $35.00 (DOE)

Express Employment of Downey is currently seeking a CNC MACHINIST (Mill and Lathe) for a manufacturer in the city of Bell Gardens, CA.

PAY: $27.00 to $35.00 an hour (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE)

SHIFTS: Monday through Friday, 7:00AM to 5:30PM (4 day work week, MUST be open to overtime)

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: evaluation hire, temp to permanent hire

Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience CNC machinist experience
• 3+ years experience in metal finishing processes STRONGLY PREFERRED
• Machining certificate STRONGLY PREFERRED
• Proven tenure/longevity with previous employers required
• Familiar with architectural industry standards, specifications, and practices
• Knowledge of G-codes, FSTCam4, conversational and other programming languages
• Ability to use measuring devices such as micrometer, caliper, and height gauge
• Bilingual is a plus (fluent Spanish)
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Self-starter; must be able to work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities:

• Setup and operate computer numerical controlled (CNC) machining center on a large variety of material
• Interpret drawings, specifications, process sheets, tape readouts and shop orders to plan and check work
• Ability to make and/or recommend adjustments to regulate part configuration both manually and through machine controls along with the understanding of basic shop math to perform needed calculations
• Obtain proper set of tools from tool crib, select holders, mount, secure, and check tools for accuracy
• Locate zero point, indicate work to ensure parallelism, reposition material to obtain zero points on X and Y axis and maintain proper distance between parts in relationship to tape control requirements
