CDL Driver

Job Description

Responsible for the safe and timely delivery of building materials to customer job sites while maintaining compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards. Operates commercial vehicles, assists with material handling, and provides exceptional customer service. Works closely with warehouse and delivery teams to ensure deliveries are accurate, efficient, and professionally completed.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A or Class B commercial vehicles to transport building materials to customer locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicles are safe and roadworthy.
• Load, secure, transport, unload, and stage materials according to company procedures and customer requirements.
• Verify delivery accuracy against packing slips and obtain necessary documentation.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service while representing the company in a positive manner.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and comply with all DOT regulations and company policies.
• Assist with warehouse operations when required, including loading, unloading, and organizing materials.
• Participate in required company meetings, training programs, and safety initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all OSHA safety standards and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Support company values of safety, teamwork, integrity, customer focus, and operational excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or Class B CDL required.
• Minimum of one year of commercial driving experience.
• Strong driving record and commitment to safety.
• Forklift experience preferred or willingness to become certified.
• Basic knowledge of building materials and construction products preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Dependable, professional, and self-motivated.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent driving and operation of commercial vehicles for extended periods.
• Regular use of hands and arms for equipment operation, lifting, and material handling.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 80 pounds and climb ladders while carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to push and pull loaded carts, dollies, and other material handling equipment over various surfaces.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts, flat carts, rock carts, dollies, and other warehouse equipment.
• Capable of working in both warehouse and outdoor job site environments.
