CNC Machine Operator

Located in Forest Park, GA

Salary: $17.41

The Machine Operator / CNC Cutting Table Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC plasma / laser cutting equipment to produce metal components according to engineering drawings, nesting programs, and production specifications.

 

Monday through Friday 6 am to 2:30 pm 30 min unpaid lunch

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC plasma/laser cutting equipment to cut metal components according to production requirements and engineering specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, cut lists, and production schedules to ensure accurate production.
• Load, verify, and run CNC cutting programs while ensuring proper material selection, machine setup, and cutting parameters.
• Inspect finished parts and monitor cutting operations to ensure dimensional accuracy, quality standards, and compliance with specifications.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to maintain equipment performance and minimize downtime.

Required Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating CNC plasma cutting equipment or similar CNC machinery preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and production documents.
• Basic computer skills and ability to work with CNC machine controls.
• Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and measurements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience operating CNC plasma cutting equipment such as Vicon, Vulcan, Hypertherm or similar systems.
• Forklift certification or experience.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication processes and material characteristics.
• Experience with nesting software and CNC programming interfaces.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices
