Facilities & Maintenance Specialist

Dubuque, IA | Full-Time | $25-$30/hr DOE

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Specialist for a unique, mission-driven organization in the Dubuque area. This hands-on role combines building maintenance, repair work, project coordination, and mentorship opportunities in a rewarding environment focused on preserving facilities and supporting the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance projects
• Complete carpentry, painting, basic masonry, restoration, and general repair work
• Monitor and maintain facility systems, including plumbing, HVAC, and electrical components
• Coordinate and communicate with outside contractors on specialized projects
• Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop areas
• Assist with facility preparations for events and special projects
• Support seasonal maintenance needs, including snow removal as needed
• Guide and assist volunteers and participants on maintenance and restoration projects
• Promote a safe, organized, and productive work environment

Qualifications:

• Experience in facilities maintenance, construction, carpentry, building trades, or related fields
• Strong working knowledge of hand and power tools
• Ability to troubleshoot and complete a variety of repair and maintenance tasks
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to mentor, train, and work alongside others
• Valid driver's license required
• Experience coordinating contractors or project work is a plus

Schedule:

• Full-time, year-round position
• Primarily daytime hours
• Occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency response availability may be required
