About the Role

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Sit-Down Forklift Operator – Shipping and Receiving for a high-volume metal distribution center in Maryland Heights, MO (63043).

In this versatile, hands-on warehouse role, you will split time between sit-down forklift operation, manual material handling, and logistics software management. Operating a sit-down forklift will make up approximately 30% to 40% of your day based on daily freight traffic, with the remaining time focused on pulling digital orders, cutting metal stock and coils, and directing floor activities. What You Will Do

• Sit-Down Forklift Operation: Safely load and unload inbound/outbound freight trucks, stage heavy metal stock, and transfer coils throughout the facility.

• Digital Stock Management: Record incoming materials and process daily customer orders using computer shipping and receiving platforms (Monarch software).

• Material Processing: Utilize hand tools to accurately cut metal products and coils according to customer specifications.

• Floor Leadership: Oversee daily warehouse workflows, assist team members, and maintain floor productivity during peak shipping cycles.

• Order Processing and Staging: Prepare outbound shipments, fulfill pick tickets, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe dock zone.

What You Need

• Leadership Experience: Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or team lead experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial environment.

• Sit-Down Forklift Expertise: 1 to 2 years of recent, proficient sit-down forklift operation experience required.

• Computer Skills: Strong technical proficiency with the ability to navigate digital order platforms and learn Monarch shipping and receiving software.

• Valid Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license.

• Work Environment: Comfortable working in an active, non-climate-controlled warehouse setting and performing physical tasks using hand tools.

• Communication Skills: Professional verbal and written English communication skills to navigate software, read pick sheets, and guide team operations.

• Reliability: Excellent attendance, daily punctuality, and reliable transportation to Maryland Heights, MO 63043.

• Screening: Willingness to complete standard pre-employment background checks and screenings.
