We're hiring a skilled Fleet Diesel Mechanic to maintain a fleet of Class 8 tri-axle dump trucks. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on mechanic who takes pride in maximizing equipment uptime, ensuring safety compliance, and keeping trucks job-site ready.

What You'll Do:
🔧 Preventative Maintenance
Perform scheduled oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and lubrication services.
Complete routine inspections to identify issues before they become costly repairs.
⚙️ Hydraulic Systems
Diagnose and repair PTOs, hydraulic pumps, hoist cylinders, dump body systems, and high-pressure hydraulic lines.
🚚 Chassis & Suspension
Maintain and repair tri-axle components, lift axles, walking beam suspensions, and heavy-duty leaf spring systems.
💻 Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
Utilize diagnostic software such as Cummins Insite and JPRO to identify and resolve engine, electrical, emissions (DEF/DPF), and performance issues.
🛑 Brakes & Air Systems
Perform complete brake repairs and inspections.
Troubleshoot and maintain air brake systems to meet safety standards.
📋 DOT Compliance
Conduct inspections and repairs to ensure compliance with FMCSA and Alabama regulations.
Support annual inspections and maintain road-ready equipment.
📱 Documentation & Inventory
Record repairs, parts usage, and labor hours in Verizon Connect.
Organize tools, equipment, and parts inventory.
Pick up parts as needed and help maintain a clean, safe shop environment.

What We're Looking For:
✅ 1-3+ years of heavy-duty diesel mechanic experience
✅ Experience working on vocational trucks such as dump trucks, mixers, or similar equipment preferred
✅ Valid driver's license required (Class B CDL - or higher - preferred)
✅ Own set of hand tools and air tools (Company provides specialized diagnostic equipment)
✅ Welding, fabrication, and hydraulic troubleshooting experience is a major plus
✅ Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
✅ Strong attention to detail, organization, communication skills, and a positive attitude
✅ Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
