General Shop Laborer
Powell, OH | Temporary, starting right away
Pay: $19.50/hr
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to about 4:00 PM. A 30-minute lunch is available. The assignment may be a few days to a week at first, with the possibility of more.
A local construction company in Powell is looking for a dependable shop laborer to join its team right away. You'll work under the direction of the shop manager, helping with cutting, fabricating, and keeping the shop running smoothly.
What You'll Do
Cut steel tubing using chop saws and band saws
Fabricate parts using shop tools including grinders and drill presses
Measure accurately using a tape measure
Clean the shop and complete other shop duties as needed
Follow all safety procedures and use the protective equipment provided
This position does not include welding.
What We're Looking For
Ability to read a tape measure accurately
Comfortable using shop tools, or willing to learn with guidance
Able to lift 10 to 20 pounds
Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
Steel-toed boots are required (you provide them)
Safety
Safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection are provided by the company. The work does not involve forklifts, cranes, ladders, or heights.
