Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanic to oversee equipment troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance. This individual should have advanced mechanical knowledge and the ability to independently diagnose complex mechanical issues and perform repairs on forklifts and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical issues involving brakes, engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform advanced repairs and maintenance on fuel systems, air systems, pneumatic components, and air leaks.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain forklifts and other industrial equipment.
• Identify equipment failures, determine root causes, and implement effective repair solutions.
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and extend equipment life.
• Oversee equipment repair priorities and ensure repairs are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with parts inventory, ordering, and maintaining adequate repair supplies.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, mechanical equipment, and technical knowledge to complete repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and completed repairs.
• Ensure all equipment meets operational and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in heavy equipment, forklift, diesel, or industrial mechanical repair.
• Advanced knowledge of engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, brakes, fuel systems, and pneumatic systems.
• Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and mechanical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently perform complex repairs with minimal supervision.
• Experience identifying mechanical failures and determining appropriate corrective actions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize repairs and manage multiple maintenance needs.
• Leadership skills and the ability to provide technical guidance to other team members.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to occasionally lift or move heavy objects weighing 100+ pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Comfortable working on uneven or rough surfaces.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to perform physically demanding mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks.
