Salary: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Shift: 1st Shift | 40 hours per week + Overtime opportunities
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team. In this role, you will prepare detailed part models, designs, and specifications with minimal supervision. You will manage quality processes, handle engineering changes, and collaborate on specific tasks including detail drawings, 3D CAD data, BOMs, and quotes.
Essential Job Functions
  • Design & Modeling: Create 3D designs and fully specified engineering components/assembly drawings of moderate complexity based on form, fit, function, and production requirements.
  • Collaboration: Partner with a multifunctional team to define design requirements, occasionally facilitating client-facing discussions.
  • Documentation & Data Management: Utilize best practices for 3D product design, 2D drawing/detailing (including GD&T), BOM creation, and Quote/PO creation.
  • Problem Solving & Prototyping: Resolve mechanical, fabrication, and assembly issues. Participate in and occasionally coordinate hands-on assembly, proof-of-design builds, and test equipment creation.
  • Engineering Changes: Independently identify product structure needs, generate BOMs, and process engineering change orders (COs) based on project and manufacturing priorities.
Education & Experience
  • 2–6 years of solid mechanical design experience.
  • Significant experience using Fusion 360 or similar 3D CAD packages.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of tolerancing, GD&T, and basic tolerance stack-ups.
  • Ability to design the following with minimal support (given initial engineering input):
    • Complex machined parts
    • Tooling for urethane molded parts
    • Products and assemblies DFM
