Our client in Willoughby, OH is seeking a dependable Tooling Technician to join their team. This role is responsible for maintaining, setting up, inspecting, and repairing ceramic core tooling and fixtures to support daily production operations. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience in a manufacturing environment, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Set up and change dies on injection presses
• Prepare tooling and dies for coating processes
• Clean, inspect, and properly store dies after use
• Perform chrome checks and inspect tooling for wear
• Polish, deburr, and maintain tooling components
• Grind feed plates and nozzles as needed
• Work with Tooling Engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Maintain inventory of tooling components, including pins, bolts, and feeds
• Keep tooling storage areas organized and maintained
• Complete required documentation and production records
• Perform end-of-shift duties, TPM activities, and 6S responsibilities
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent attendance and reliability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and standing
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to push, pull, or slide up to 400 lbs. with assistance
• Ability to safely operate tools and machinery
• 20/20 vision with or without corrective lenses
