Quality Inspector - Metal Fabrication
Location: Allegan, MI
Pay: $18.00-$25.00/hour, based on experience and expertise
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm; occasional overtime may be required
Position Summary
A local metal fabrication and manufacturing company in Allegan, MI is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to inspect metal materials and ensure dimensional and quality requirements are met.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with raw metals in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment and be comfortable reading blueprints and dimensional specifications. This position requires hands-on experience using precision measuring tools, including dial calipers, digital calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
Qualified candidates must also be able to identify and distinguish between carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel and clearly communicate quality concerns to other team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect metal materials and components for quality and dimensional accuracy
- Read and interpret blueprints, measurements, and dimensional requirements
- Perform accurate measurements using dial calipers, digital calipers, micrometers, and tape measures
- Identify and distinguish between carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
- Monitor work for accuracy and attention to detail
- Identify and clearly communicate quality concerns and requirements to other team members
- Maintain organized and accurate quality inspection practices
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience working with raw metals in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment
- Ability to identify and distinguish between carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
- Proficiency using and reading dial calipers, digital calipers, tape measures, and micrometers
- Strong blueprint-reading skills and the ability to interpret measurements and dimensional requirements accurately
- Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate quality concerns and requirements to other team members
Schedule & Pay
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm. Occasional overtime may be required to keep up with daily tasks.
Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour, depending on experience and level of expertise.
