Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals in Yuba City is partnering with an established manufacturing company in the Yuba-Sutter area to hire an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to support its production and facility maintenance operations.

This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial production equipment to ensure operations run safely and efficiently. Daily responsibilities include preventative maintenance, mechanical repairs, basic electrical troubleshooting, welding, fabrication, and assisting with equipment installations and annual overhauls.

The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background, hands-on industrial equipment repair experience, and the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues independently. Basic electrical knowledge, welding experience, and familiarity with manufacturing environments are highly desirable.

This is a hands-on maintenance position requiring strong problem-solving skills, attention to safety, and flexibility to support production needs.

Compensation & Schedule

Pay: $25.00–$27.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, approximately 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.
Schedule Flexibility: Start and end times may vary by 1–2 hours earlier or later depending on production and maintenance needs.
Additional Hours: Extended or irregular hours may be required throughout the year.

Industrial Maintenance Mechanic – Primary Job Duties

Perform routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and annual overhauls on industrial production equipment.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and basic electrical issues to minimize equipment downtime.
Maintain and repair production machinery and supporting facility equipment.
Complete preventative maintenance work orders and accurately document completed repairs.
Perform welding and fabrication repairs on production equipment, catwalks, and structural components.
Assist with general facility maintenance, repairs, and upkeep.
Work independently or alongside outside contractors during equipment installations, repairs, and upgrades.
Troubleshoot electronic equipment and assist with identifying operational issues.
Safely operate forklifts and boom lifts when performing maintenance tasks.
Perform maintenance work at elevated heights when necessary.
Assist with plant operations during periods of increased production demand.
Follow all company safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or safety violations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned by management.

Industrial Maintenance Mechanic – Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on equipment repair experience.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment and identify repair needs.
Basic electrical troubleshooting experience preferred.
Welding and basic fabrication experience preferred.
Good understanding of electronic equipment operations.
Forklift certification required.
Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Ability to safely work at heights and operate elevated work equipment.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production personnel, maintenance staff, and outside contractors.
Ability to work independently and prioritize maintenance tasks.
Willingness to work a flexible day-shift schedule, including earlier starts, later finishes, and extended hours when necessary.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and perform physically demanding maintenance tasks.
Comfortable working around industrial machinery and moving production equipment.
Ability to safely work at elevated heights using appropriate equipment.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
Ability to follow established workplace safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
