Job Title: Inventory Control / Stock Room Clerk
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Schedule/Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime opportunities available based on business needs
Employment Type: Temporary-to-Hire
Summary:
We are seeking an Inventory Control / Stock Room Clerk to join the Shipping & Receiving Department at our Elgin facility. This position is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, processing shipments and receipts, fulfilling internal and customer orders, and supporting overall warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have prior shipping and receiving experience and strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Perform cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Pick, pack, and process customer orders and internal work order requests.
- Receive incoming materials, inspect shipments, and complete ERP inventory transactions.
- Process domestic and export shipments using ERP systems and carrier software such as UPS, FedEx, and DHL.
- Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, and Remstar vertical lift systems while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- At least 1 year of shipping and receiving experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with inventory, receiving, and shipping systems such as SAP, InforVisual, or similar ERP software preferred.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and lift materials as required.
