Job Description

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician for a residential community in Huntington, Indiana. This position is responsible for maintaining apartments, buildings, and common areas while ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents. The ideal candidate will have experience with general maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance programs. 

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair work on apartments, buildings, and common areas. 
• Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner. 
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and appliance issues.
• Assist with apartment turnovers, painting, and unit preparation.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities. 
• Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and work area.
• Coordinate repairs with outside vendors and contractors as needed.
• Respond to emergency maintenance situations and after-hours calls when required.
• Follow all safety procedures and property regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and team members.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience preferred. 
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools. 
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. 
• Previous property maintenance or apartment maintenance experience is a plus.
