We are seeking an experienced Aluminum MIG Welder/Fabricator to join a growing fabrication team in Lafayette, LA. This hands-on position is ideal for someone who enjoys welding, fabrication, problem-solving, and producing high-quality work. This is not a repetitive production role. Candidates should be comfortable working on a variety of projects, reading blueprints, and taking ownership of their craftsmanship.
Perform aluminum MIG welding according to blueprints and quality specifications.
Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
Fit, align, clamp, and tack aluminum components before welding.
Set up and adjust welding equipment for different materials and thicknesses.
Prepare and clean aluminum surfaces to ensure quality welds.
Inspect completed welds and correct defects as needed.
Use fabrication tools and measuring equipment accurately.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Troubleshoot fabrication challenges and meet production deadlines.
Previous aluminum MIG welding experience required.
Experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings.
Strong knowledge of aluminum welding techniques, heat control, and distortion prevention.
Experience with fitting, fabrication, and measuring tools.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be willing to complete a practical welding test.
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
Comfortable standing, bending, and working on your feet throughout the day.
Willingness to occasionally work outdoors.
$18–$26 per hour, depending on experience.
Occasional overtime opportunities.
Hands-on fabrication work with a variety of projects.
Tools provided.
Potential advancement into a Shop Foreman position.
