Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Drafter / Designer on behalf of a local client in East Wenatchee!

Are you detail-oriented, comfortable with AutoCAD, and enjoy seeing your designs come to life? We are seeking a Drafter / Designer to create detailed blueprints and technical drawings for concrete structures used in municipal and public infrastructure projects. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical design work with hands-on collaboration in a fabrication shop.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong math skills, the ability to interpret design plans, and an interest in working closely with fabricators to help ensure designs translate accurately from the computer to the shop floor.

What You’ll Do

• Create and modify detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and layouts for concrete structures and related components.
• Use AutoCAD to develop accurate drawings based on project specifications, design plans, and measurements.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, construction plans, and technical documents.
• Apply mathematical skills to measurements, dimensions, calculations, and drawing accuracy.
• Collaborate with shop personnel and fabricators to clarify design details and resolve potential issues.
• Visit the fabrication shop to review projects, verify measurements, and ensure drawings align with practical manufacturing requirements.
• Make revisions to drawings as needed to accommodate project specifications and fabrication needs.
• Maintain organized drawing files and project documentation.
• Work independently to manage drafting assignments while communicating effectively with the team.

What We’re Looking For

• Completed AutoCAD coursework, classes, or certification.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and technical drafting; 2+ years of experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, design plans, and technical drawings.
• Strong math skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read a tape measure and accurately understand dimensions and measurements.
• Comfortable working both at a computer and in an active fabrication shop environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with fabricators and other team members.
• Willingness to learn about concrete structures, fabrication processes, and project-specific requirements.

Schedule & Compensation

• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
• Potential flexibility for a 7:00 AM–4:00 PM schedule.
• Starting pay of $20.00–$28.00 per hour, based on experience, technical skills, and qualifications.
