VP of Lending

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a VP of Lending for a local financial institution. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced lending professional with a strong background in commercial lending, portfolio management, credit analysis, and business development.

Key Responsibilities

• Originate, structure, underwrite, and manage commercial, commercial real estate, consumer, and residential real estate loans.
• Manage a large and complex loan portfolio while maintaining strong credit quality and risk management practices.
• Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, collateral, and market trends to assess creditworthiness.
• Present loan requests and recommendations to executive leadership and lending committees.
• Monitor portfolio performance, renew and restructure credit facilities, and manage delinquent accounts when necessary.
• Develop new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and community involvement.
• Build and maintain relationships with business owners, commercial clients, accountants, attorneys, and other referral sources.
• Serve as a trusted financial advisor by providing customized lending solutions.
• Identify opportunities to expand customer relationships through additional banking products and services.
• Mentor lending staff and contribute to strategic growth initiatives and lending best practices.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable banking regulations, lending policies, and documentation requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field preferred.
• 7-10+ years of progressive lending experience with extensive commercial lending expertise.
• Proven experience managing a substantial commercial loan portfolio.
• Strong background in commercial, commercial real estate, consumer, and residential real estate lending.
• Advanced credit analysis, financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, and loan structuring skills.
• Demonstrated success in business development and relationship management.
• Strong understanding of banking regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and lending software systems.
• Must be bondable.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a professional office environment.
• Prolonged periods of computer and keyboard use.
• Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
