General Labor/Machine Operator - $18-$20 - Frankfort

Position Summary:

Machine Shop in Frankfort, IL is seeking a dependable and motivated General Labor & Machine Operator to support daily manufacturing operations. This position works closely with the Plant Manager and serves as a backup operator for both the Die Cutting Machine and Press Machines. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and willing to learn multiple production processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

General Labor

·         Assist with a variety of production and facility-related tasks as assigned by the Plant Manager.

·         Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

·         Support production activities to ensure efficient workflow and on-time completion of jobs.

·         Perform basic shop math, including fractional-to-decimal conversions and simple dimensional calculations.

·         Report equipment issues, quality concerns, or production delays to the supervisor.

·         Assist with machine maintenance and housekeeping as required.

Die Cutting Machine Backup

·         Safely operate die-cutting equipment to produce parts of specified sizes and shapes from non-woven materials.

·         Position cutting dies and materials to maximize material utilization and minimize waste.

·         Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards.

·         Follow all safety and operating procedures.

Press Machine Backup

·         Set up and operate press machines according to production schedules and job specifications.

·         Load non-woven discs onto roller shafts of a two-story pneumatic press.

·         Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout the pressing process.

Qualifications

·         High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

·         Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.

·         Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.

·         Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

·         Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn manufacturing equipment operation.

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Info:

·         Employees must provide their own steel-toe or closed-toe work shoes. 

·         Work Hours are Monday-Friday (6:00 am-2:30 pm)
