About the Opportunity:

Our client is a wholesale lumber company specializing in imported wood products, including premium decking, siding, fastening systems, exterior wood stains, and complementary accessories.

The company is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Sample Production Coordinator to join its team in Forest Grove. This role focuses on preparing high-quality wood product samples, manufacturing marketing displays, applying finishes, and maintaining an organized and safe production and lab environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical woodworking experience who takes pride in craftsmanship, values attention to detail, and enjoys working in a collaborative shop environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sample Preparation and Finishing: Mill, cut, sand, and prepare wood samples. Apply stains, sealers, and other finishes.
• Display Manufacturing: Build and assemble product displays, sample boards, and architectural presentation materials.
• Order Fulfillment: Receive, log, package, and ship sample requests promptly to support customers and sales representatives.
• Inventory Management: Monitor sample stock and shop supplies, maintaining accurate inventory levels.
• Shop and Lab Maintenance: Keep the sample preparation room, lab, and warehouse areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Technical Support: Occasionally assist with data collection and product testing procedures.
• Safety Compliance: Follow shop safety procedures, handle tools properly, wear required personal protective equipment, and follow chemical handling and disposal protocols.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Practical, hands-on woodworking experience using standard shop power tools, such as table saws, miter saws, routers, sanders, and planers.
• Working knowledge of wood stains, exterior finishes, oils, and sealers.
• Strong commitment to shop safety, dust management, PPE compliance, and equipment maintenance.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work, including the ability to identify imperfections in wood grain, cuts, textures, and finishes.
• Willingness to learn new woodworking techniques, wood species characteristics, and product testing methods.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to manage daily tasks while meeting deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds periodically.
• Comfort working in a woodworking shop and lab environment around machinery, wood dust, and finishing products.
