Express Employment Professionals – Mississauga North is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist for a permanent, full-time opportunity with a well-established semi-trailer sales and leasing company in Kitchener, Ontario.

Job Description

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will manage accounts receivable and collections, maintain accurate customer accounts, prepare financial reports, and provide backup support to Accounts Payable.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct collection calls, resolve customer account issues, and follow up on outstanding balances.

• Generate customer invoices, billing documents, and account statements.

• Process customer payments and deposits in CAD and USD.

• Prepare collection reports and lead weekly A/R review meetings with the CFO, Controller, and team.

• Monitor customer credit limits and recommend adjustments.

• Set up new customer accounts, review credit applications, and validate HST numbers.

• Process accounts payable invoices, including GL coding, purchase order and contract verification, and payment tracking, when required.

• Respond to customer and vendor inquiries and process incoming and outgoing mail, including cheques.

• Prepare routine reports and executive performance reports.

• Report irregular transactions to management.

• Assist with reconciliations for interim and year-end audits.

• Complete minor administrative journal entries and other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, specifically in accounts receivable and collections.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• College diploma or university degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software quickly.

• Excellent time-management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
