R&D Lab Technician

Located in Racine, WI

Salary: $22.00/hr.

POSITION SUMMARY
Performs laboratory functions consisting of the collection, sampling and testing under the guidance of the R&D Manager to create new products and processes. This position operates within FDA FSMA and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) requirements defining food safety standards for the safe production of food in the plant and offices i.e. within the standards of defined risk levels by area.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
1. Perform lab procedures and testing for titratable acidity, moisture, fat, and pH.
2. Use Word and Excel for documentation, recording, etc.
3. Responsible for backing up QA on performing test samples.
4. Prepare samples on the bench with formulas and lab procedures.
5. Perform analytical experiments with instructions.
6. Record and compile test results, and prepare graphs, charts and reports.
7. Use professional software to create product documents.
8. Order supplies needed to maintain inventories in the laboratory.
9. Taste or smell foods or beverages in order to ensure that flavors meet specifications, or to select samples with specific characteristics.
10. Perform tasks assigned to assist other functions of R&D.
