Schedule: Monday - Thursday (4-Day Work Week) | Fridays Off
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour (Based on Experience)

Position Overview 

Structural Steel Welder/Fabricator

A growing steel manufacturing company in Chester is hiring an experienced Structural Steel Welder/Fabricator. This position requires individuals who can accurately read blueprints, identify weld symbols, and assemble steel components with precision. Candidates will work with structural steel, place materials into jigs, perform tack welds, and ensure assemblies meet specifications before final welding.

IMPORTANT: Candidates MUST be able to read blueprints and recognize weld symbols. If you cannot read blueprints, please do not apply. All qualified candidates will be required to complete a blueprint reading and welding assessment.

Essential Job Duties 

Structural Steel Welder/Fabricator

• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols.
• Layout, fit, and assemble structural steel components according to specifications.
• Place steel materials into jigs and fixtures with precise measurements.
• Perform tack welding and assist with final weld preparation.
• Verify dimensions and ensure assemblies meet production tolerances.
• Use measuring tools, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
• Identify and correct fit-up issues before welding.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Follow quality standards and production schedules.

Requirements 

Structural Steel Welder/Fabricator

MUST HAVE: 

• Proven ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Ability to recognize and interpret weld symbols.
• Prior welding and steel fabrication experience.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in assembly work.
• Ability to pass a blueprint reading and welding test.

Physical Requirements

• Heavy lifting throughout the shift.
• Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
• Pulling and pushing steel materials and assemblies.
• Standing for extended periods.
• Working in a manufacturing environment around steel products and welding operations.

Preferred Qualifications 

Structural Steel Welder/Fabricator

• Structural steel fabrication experience.
• MIG welding experience.
• Experience using jigs, fixtures, and measuring equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude and fabrication knowledge.
