Express Employment Professionals is hiring an Operator Specialist for a long-term contract assignment with the City of Durham’s Water Management department.

As an Operator Specialist, you would assist with monitoring, operating, adjusting, and maintaining equipment on-site at a water treatment facility. This is an open-ended contract position with no specific end-date. However, you will have opportunities to apply for permanent employment with the City of Durham during your contract.

 

Schedule will be on the 1st Shift, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

 

Compensation for the role is $19.00/hour.

 

Responsibilities Include:

• Completing routine equipment maintenance
• Performing treatment plant operation procedures
• Performing routine facility maintenance tasks like cleaning, moving materials, etc.

Desired Qualifications:

• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Willingness to learn water treatment process
• 1+ year work experience in a manufacturing, utility or agricultural environment
• High school diploma / GED
• Valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements:

• Considerable walking on concrete and steel surfaces indoors and outdoors
• Climbing stairs
• Using 6-8 foot ladders
• Lifting loads of 50 pounds
