Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable Repair Technician I to perform sanding, buffing, polishing, and gel coat repairs on fiberglass boat components. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and committed to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Sand, buff, and polish gel coat surfaces to a high-gloss finish.
• Prepare surfaces and perform gel coat spray patch repairs.
• Work in small parts, medium parts, and hull repair areas.
• Operate power tools, spray guns, and air/electric buffers.
• Apply paint to back surfaces using brushes or rollers.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
• Complete required production documentation and assist with training new team members.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience with sanding, polishing, fiberglass, gel coat, or power tools is a plus.
• Ability to follow instructions and meet quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork, attendance, and dependability.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a dusty manufacturing environment while wearing required protective equipment.
• Must meet pre-employment screening requirements.

Work Schedule & Environment

• Typical 10-hour workdays, with frequent overtime.
• Manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, airborne particles, temperature variations, and sharp tools.
• Safety glasses and supplied-air hoods are required as applicable.
