Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Paralegal to join a well-established criminal defense law practice in Ventura, CA.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional looking to grow their career while working closely with experienced attorneys. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of legal procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with criminal defense case preparation, organization, and management.

• Conduct legal research and support litigation preparation.

• Draft, review, proofread, and organize legal documents, correspondence, and court filings.

• Coordinate client intake, interviews, and ongoing communications.

• Maintain accurate and confidential case files, records, and documentation.

• Monitor court deadlines, filing requirements, and procedural timelines.

• Provide administrative support, including data entry, transcription, scheduling, and correspondence.

• Manage multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Paralegal certificate required.

• 2 Years of Experience 

• Knowledge of criminal court procedures, legal terminology, and case management practices.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and legal document management systems.

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and competing priorities.

• Strong commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
