Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable Logistics Specialist to support transportation, warehousing, and distribution operations. This position is responsible for coordinating shipments, monitoring inventory movement, communicating with carriers and customers, and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of goods. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced supply chain environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure on-time pickup and delivery.
- Schedule and communicate with carriers, customers, warehouses, and internal departments.
- Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve transportation delays or service issues.
- Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, bills of lading, delivery paperwork, and freight records.
- Track inventory movements and assist with inventory reconciliation activities.
- Enter and update order, shipment, and customer information within company systems.
- Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damaged freight claims, and customer concerns.
- Analyze transportation and operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Support daily warehouse and distribution activities to ensure efficient workflow.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and transportation regulations.
- Work closely with customer service, transportation, and operations teams to meet performance goals.
- Generate reports related to shipment activity, inventory accuracy, and service metrics.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure accurate and timely communication regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, and exceptions.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, distribution, supply chain, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), or ERP software is a plus.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
