We’re looking for a hands-on, business-minded General Manager who knows how to lead people, manage financial performance, and keep operations running efficiently. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a multi-location operation, work alongside an experienced leadership team, and help shape the long-term success of an established, grower-owned cooperative.

 

Fun Fact: This organization operates multiple wash plants along with supporting storage facilities. That means no two days are exactly alike, and your leadership will have a direct impact across multiple operations!

 

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the operation: Oversee three wash plants and associated storage facilities, working closely with plant managers to establish priorities and drive results.
• Own the numbers: Partner with the Controller on budgets, financial reporting, expense management, and cost controls.
• Find ways to improve: Identify cost savings, streamline processes, improve reporting, and make smart purchasing and equipment decisions.
• Lead and develop people: Support plant managers, oversee staffing and employee relations, and build a culture of accountability.
• Build strong relationships: Work directly with growers, customers, suppliers, industry partners, and the Board of Directors.
• Plan for the future: Coordinate maintenance priorities, equipment reliability, and capital improvements.
• Keep things running right: Oversee safety, product quality, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in a leader who can see the big picture while still understanding the details that keep a business running.

• Leadership experience in agriculture, food production, manufacturing, cooperative management, or a comparable business.
• Strong financial and analytical skills, including experience managing budgets, controlling expenses, and evaluating business performance.
• Experience leading managers, improving processes, and holding teams accountable.
• Practical problem-solving skills and sound judgment when it comes to equipment, maintenance, and operational decisions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships with employees, customers, and business partners.
• A technical background in equipment, maintenance, automation, or business technology is a plus.
• A relevant degree or equivalent leadership experience.

Bonus points if you bring potato-industry experience or familiarity with cooperative accounting. However, we’re open to leaders from other industries who have the right mix of operational, financial, and people-management experience.
