General Production Worker

Job purpose

Final Assembly production takes the furniture components and uses hand tools, clamps and adhesives to build complete furniture frames. The work areas include final assembly, packaging, and hardware.

 

Duties and responsibilities

· Using hand tools

· Knowledge of parts used in the manufacturing processes

· Learning different processes for various product lines

· Meet/Exceed quality standards

· Complete production paperwork

· Follow production schedule

· Clean/organized work area daily

· Wear required PPE

· Identify and communicate productivity improvements

· Track and report daily production in computer system

 

Qualifications

Hand tool experience preferred:

· Air wrench

· Air nail gun

· Air drill

Able to learn:

· Use clamps and adhesives

· Saws

· Hammers

 

Working conditions

 

Production work areas may contain dust particles, fumes from different stains, adhesives and wood products used in the production processes. Exposed to hot or cold temperatures on the production floor at times, dependent on weather conditions outside.

 

Physical requirements

 

· Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.

· Occasional lifting over 50 pounds with assistance

· Frequent bending, pushing, pulling

· Handling and operation of hand tools

· Pulling/pushing hand carts, hand trucks

· Safety glasses required and other PPE; depending on work area

· Must be able to work 10-hour shifts and overtime as scheduled.

· Must be able to work in hot or cold temperatures
