Our client in far north Bexar County is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Sandblaster to join their industrial production team. This evaluation-hire opportunity is ideal for candidates with experience in abrasive blasting, surface preparation, industrial painting support, or manufacturing environments. The Sandblaster will prepare metal and equipment surfaces for painting, coatings, repair, and refurbishment while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Type: Evaluation Hire

Job Duties for the Sandblaster Include:

• Perform abrasive blasting to remove rust, paint, scale, grease, and contaminants from metal surfaces
• Prepare equipment, parts, and fabricated components for painting and coating applications
• Load and unload materials into blasting cabinets, hoppers, and work areas
• Monitor blasting operations and adjust pressure settings as needed for quality results
• Inspect surfaces to ensure proper preparation prior to painting or refinishing
• Maintain blasting equipment, hoses, nozzles, and work areas in proper operating condition
• Apply masking materials and protective coverings to designated surfaces
• Assist with steam cleaning, surface preparation, and general shop duties as required
• Follow all safety procedures and properly wear required PPE

Requirements for the Sandblaster Position:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous sandblasting, abrasive blasting, industrial labor, or surface preparation experience preferred
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Ability to lift, carry, and position materials throughout the workday
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, climb ladders, and work on uneven surfaces
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate industrial equipment safely
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver's license preferred
• Forklift experience is a plus
