Inside Sales Job Summary:

A growing marine equipment distributor in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join their team. This position provides customer service, order processing, and technical product support to an established network of dealers throughout the region. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative and customer service skills, excellent phone communication, and the ability to build and maintain long-term business relationships. This is not a cold-calling sales position, but rather a customer-focused role supporting existing dealer accounts. Candidates with mechanical aptitude or experience working with parts, equipment, construction materials, or other technical products are highly encouraged to apply!

Inside Sales Responsibilities:

• Handle inbound phone calls and inquiries from established dealers regarding products, parts, orders, and warranty questions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing dealers, providing professional and timely customer service.
• Process customer orders, purchase orders, and related documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Assist dealers with identifying products and replacement parts, understanding product applications, and troubleshooting basic technical issues.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to resolve product questions, warranty concerns, and customer service issues.
• Open and process warranty claims, track claim statuses, and follow up on outstanding claims with vendors.
• Process vendor credit memos and maintain accurate warranty and claim records.
• Prepare packing slips, shipping documents, and coordinate delivery details with customers and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate inventory information and update records within the company's ERP system.
• Assist with website updates, dealer information, and other administrative or special projects as needed.

Schedule & Pay:

• 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday
• Starting at $20.00/HR, with flexibility depending on experience

Inside Sales Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in customer service, inside sales, order processing, or a related administrative position.
• Strong phone communication skills and experience working directly with business customers or established accounts.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
• Comfortable learning and understanding technical products, parts, and equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude or previous experience in construction, automotive, marine, equipment, parts, or industrial distribution is highly preferred.
• Ability to understand how mechanical components work together and assist customers with basic troubleshooting.
• Experience with warranty claims, vendor coordination, or technical customer support is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable navigating multiple computer systems.
• Experience with ERP systems, particularly NetSuite, is a plus.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to work well with a small team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently research customer questions and follow through on resolutions.
