Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in hospital or home health settings in accordance with established care plans, physician orders, and applicable nursing standards.
• Monitor and document vital signs, symptoms, and changes in patient condition, promptly communicating concerns to the supervising RN or appropriate healthcare provider.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered and within the scope of Mississippi LPN practice.
• Assist with wound care, dressing changes, infection prevention, and other nursing procedures appropriate to the clinical setting.
• Support patient recovery, comfort, safety, and daily care needs while promoting dignity and independence.
• Reinforce patient and caregiver education regarding medications, treatment plans, safety precautions, and ongoing care needs.
• Collaborate with registered nurses, physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to support continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with facility or agency policies and applicable regulations.
• Recognize and report changes in patient status, contributing to timely interventions and appropriate adjustments to the plan of care.
• Follow infection control protocols, patient safety procedures, and established clinical policies and standards.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: Graduation from an approved Practical Nursing program.

Licensure: Active, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Mississippi.

Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification. Additional certifications may be required depending on the facility or assignment.

Experience: Previous hospital, home health, rehabilitation, long-term care, or other clinical nursing experience preferred. Motivated new graduates with strong clinical judgment and a commitment to patient-centered care are encouraged to apply.

Attributes: Strong clinical observation skills, attention to detail, compassion, reliability, sound clinical judgment, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements: Ability to meet the physical and clinical demands of the assigned setting. A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and active auto insurance are required for home health positions involving travel between patient locations.
