Job Description

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a dependable, hardworking Plumber's Apprentice / Plumbing Helper for a growing plumbing and mechanical services company in Union, NJ.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with basic plumbing or construction experience who wants to develop their skills, gain hands-on experience, and build a long-term career in the plumbing trade.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with tools, and eager to learn from experienced plumbers.

Key Responsibilities

Assist licensed plumbers with residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance.
Help install and repair pipes, fittings, fixtures, drains, and water supply lines.
Measure, cut, thread, and assemble piping using hand and power tools.
Carry materials, prepare work areas, and maintain organized job sites.
Assist with troubleshooting plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, and drainage problems.
Support the installation of sinks, toilets, faucets, valves, and other plumbing equipment.
Follow instructions from experienced plumbers and supervisors.
Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in safe working condition.
Follow all workplace safety procedures and building regulations.

Qualifications

Previous plumbing, construction, maintenance, or mechanical experience preferred.
Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools.
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and working in tight spaces.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
Valid driver's license preferred.
Willingness to learn plumbing techniques and develop trade skills.
