Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals in Yuba City is partnering with a well-established agricultural equipment and machine shop in Colusa, CA, to hire a CNC Machinist / Manual Machinist.

This position involves operating CNC and manual machining equipment to manufacture, modify, and repair metal components used in agricultural and industrial machinery. Unlike repetitive production machining, this opportunity offers a variety of custom projects requiring mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and hands-on problem-solving.

The ideal candidate has previous machine shop experience, understands machining processes, and is comfortable working with mills, lathes, and precision measuring tools. Experience with both CNC and manual machining is preferred, but candidates with a solid background in either area are encouraged to apply.

Compensation & Position Highlights

• $18.00–$23.00 per hour, depending on experience

• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Primary Job Duties

• Set up and operate CNC machines, manual mills, and manual lathes to manufacture and repair metal components.

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications.

• Perform machining operations including turning, milling, drilling, boring, and threading.

• Manufacture custom replacement parts and components for agricultural and industrial equipment.

• Use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to verify part dimensions.

• Select appropriate cutting tools, materials, and machining methods.

• Make machine adjustments to maintain accuracy and meet required tolerances.

• Inspect completed parts for quality, accuracy, and proper fit.

• Troubleshoot machining issues and assist with equipment repairs as needed.

• Maintain machining equipment, tools, and a clean, organized work area.

• Follow established safety procedures when operating machinery and handling materials.

 Requirements

• Previous CNC or manual machining experience preferred.

• Experience operating mills, lathes, or similar machine shop equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

• Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.

• Understanding of machining tolerances, cutting tools, and metalworking processes.

• CNC setup and programming experience is a plus.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.

• Agricultural equipment or industrial machinery experience is a plus.

• Basic welding or fabrication experience is beneficial.

• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.

• Dependable attendance, attention to detail, and commitment to workplace safety.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.

• Ability to safely lift and handle metal components, tools, and materials.

• Comfortable working around industrial machinery, cutting tools, and metalworking equipment.

• Ability to perform repetitive machining tasks while maintaining accuracy and safety.
