Essential duties and responsibilities

1. Prepares and delivers feed and maintains prescribed diet for animals. Assists in maintaining food inventory. (25%)
2. Provides daily care and observation of animals, including grooming in keeping with seasonally changing needs. Assists with record keeping for daily care, feeding, husbandry, animal locations, and body condition. (15%)
3. Cleans and provides daily upkeep for enclosures, habitats, and other work areas. Assists in maintaining supply inventories. (40%)
4. Maintains and repairs enclosures, pastures, and habitats including mowing and landscaping. (10%)
5. Provides basic first aid, therapeutic, and rehabilitative care to animals as directed. (5%)
6. Assists with overseeing volunteers including reporting and handling concerns and providing mentorship. (5%)
7. Performs other duties or responsibilities, as assigned.

Education and experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One (1) year of experience in equine care is preferred.
• Experience with side-by-side utility vehicles and tractors preferred.

3. Attention to detail and commitment to excellence demonstrated by the delivery of quality and timely outcomes.
4. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary.
