Machine Operator / Mold Technician

Location: Mahwah, NJ
Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour
Schedule: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Overtime: As needed

Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Machine Operator / Mold Technician to join a manufacturing team in Mahwah. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring hydraulic presses, rubber mills, and other production equipment used in the manufacturing process.

The ideal candidate has machine operation experience, follows safety procedures, performs quality inspections, and can make machine adjustments to ensure products meet specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor hydraulic presses, rubber mills, and other production equipment.
• Complete pre-operation checks to ensure machines are ready for safe and efficient operation.
• Monitor multiple machines to maintain production quality and minimize downtime.
• Inspect parts during production to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Adjust machine settings and change tools or molds as needed.
• Weigh and measure materials and mix components according to required ratios.
• Read and follow work instructions, blueprints, and product drawings.
• Troubleshoot machine issues and perform basic preventive maintenance as needed.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors to maintain smooth production.
• Follow established procedures and safety guidelines when operating machinery.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, safety shoes, and protective arm sleeves.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Help reduce material waste and maintain consistent product quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work overtime when needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade school equivalent.
• Previous machine operation or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production equipment.
• Ability to weigh and measure materials accurately.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
• Basic communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to use good judgment when working around heavy machinery.
• Willingness to follow safety procedures and wear all required PPE.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to use hands and arms to operate machinery and handle materials.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and occasionally climb or balance.
• Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Good vision to inspect parts and identify quality issues.
