Location: Fort Leonard Wood, MO – On-Base Position
Important: This position is located on base at Fort Leonard Wood. All employees must be able to obtain access to the installation and be able to report to work on base.

Pay: $17.75 per hour + $5.09 per hour in fringe benefits
Total Compensation: $22.84 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Janitor to join our team. The Janitor will be responsible for maintaining clean, sanitary, and safe facilities while providing quality service and working effectively with others.

Job Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, sweep, mop, and vacuum assigned areas.

• Clean and restock bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, glass, and floors.

• Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners.

• Dust and clean office areas, furniture, windowsills, and windows.

• Clean break rooms and other designated areas.

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe supply and equipment storage areas.

• Properly label, dilute, and use cleaning chemicals.

• Safely operate cleaning equipment and perform basic preventative and minor equipment maintenance.

• Assist with deep cleaning, carpet cleaning, floor cleaning, and other special projects as needed.

• May assist with grounds maintenance and snow removal when applicable.

• Set up and remove tables, chairs, ladders, decorations, and other items for events as needed.

• Follow assigned schedules, work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.

• Communicate supply and equipment needs to supervisors.

• Work cooperatively with team members and assist with training or helping coworkers when needed.

• Respond to and correct cleaning deficiencies or customer concerns promptly.

• Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience in any field preferred.

• No specific education requirement.

• Janitorial or cleaning experience is helpful but not required.

• Must be dependable and able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Must demonstrate attention to safety, quality, and customer service.

• Driver's license preferred but not required.

• Must successfully complete required background and registry checks.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain access to Fort Leonard Wood.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, twisting, and other physical activity associated with cleaning and maintenance duties.

• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to use hands frequently for grasping, lifting, carrying, wiping, and squeezing.

• Ability to occasionally climb stairs or ladders and kneel or squat.

• Ability to remain visually alert to surrounding areas, equipment, and coworkers to maintain a safe work environment.
