Member Service Representative

Position Summary

The Member Service Representative helps credit union members manage their accounts, understand available financial products and services, and resolve account-related questions. This role opens new accounts, performs authorized account maintenance, assists with debit and credit card services, and guides members through digital banking tools and other financial transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Open new membership accounts and subaccounts, including Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and Certificates of Deposit (CDs).

• Respond to member questions about accounts, credit union services, and available financial products.

• Perform authorized account maintenance while ensuring information is accurate and up to date.

• Process credit and debit card requests, including alerts, disputes, PIN resets, and travel notifications.

• Assist members with wire transfers, stop-payment requests, teller transactions, and statement printing.

• Educate members on electronic banking services, including online banking, mobile applications, audio response, text alerts, and person-to-person (P2P) payments.

• Research account concerns and work toward timely, accurate resolutions.

• Identify member needs and explain relevant products and services that may support their financial goals.

• Maintain member confidentiality and follow established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service, banking, credit union, or financial services experience preferred.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Comfortable using computers, digital applications, and account management systems.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to explain financial services clearly to members with varying levels of technical knowledge.

• Professional, patient, and solutions-oriented approach to member service.
