Custodian / Janitorial Associate

Pay: $21.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

A company in the logistics and supply chain industry is seeking a dependable Custodian / Janitorial Associate to support facility cleanliness, maintenance, and general warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have janitorial experience, forklift certification, and the ability to perform cleaning and basic maintenance duties both indoors and outdoors.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general janitorial duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and emptying trash.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, break rooms, offices, and frequently touched surfaces.
• Operate industrial ride-on floor scrubbers and sweepers.
• Perform basic facility maintenance, including minor dock door repairs and dock leveler cleaning.
• Use a forklift to move and stack pallets.
• Refill forklift propane tanks safely.
• Restock restrooms and break rooms with soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other supplies.
• Maintain cleaning carts, storage rooms, and supply areas in an organized condition.
• Follow safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and operating equipment.
• Report maintenance issues and supply shortages to the supervisor.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

 

Experience & Requirements

• Janitorial or custodial experience required.
• Valid forklift certification required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including chemical handling and equipment safety procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently and complete tasks within established deadlines.
• Reliable attendance and a strong safety record.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to perform cleaning and general maintenance duties throughout the facility.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors throughout the year.
• Ability to safely operate industrial cleaning equipment and forklifts.
• Ability to handle cleaning products while following required safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
