Inspector
Location: Monroe, NC
Pay: $16.50/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (approximately 50 hours per week)
Overtime: Saturday overtime available as needed
Position Type: Full-Time, Temporary Assignment Through the End of the Year with Potential for Long-Term Placement
Language Skills: Bilingual Spanish Preferred
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Inspector to join our production team in Monroe. This position is expected to last through the end of the year, with the opportunity for long-term placement based on attendance, performance, and business needs.
The Inspector is responsible for examining products for quality, accuracy, and completion before they move to the next stage of production. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to use measuring tools, and a commitment to maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect products to ensure they meet quality and customer specifications.
- Check for defects such as cracks, poor joints, incorrect materials, size discrepancies, or other quality issues.
- Verify product dimensions, thickness, grade, and other specifications.
- Use tape measures, calipers, and gauges to perform accurate measurements.
- Perform minor repairs and touch-ups, including sanding and filling small defects.
- Reject products that do not meet quality standards and document issues as needed.
- Update job tickets and production records when products are missing or require rework.
- Move materials using carts, racks, and conveyors throughout the inspection process.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or quality inspection environment preferred.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to accurately read measurements using tape measures, calipers, and gauges.
- Ability to read and understand basic work instructions and safety information.
- Bilingual Spanish and English is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Regular lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent pushing and pulling of materials and carts.
- Occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent reaching, bending, grasping, and repetitive hand movements.
- Strong visual attention to detail for identifying defects and quality concerns.
Work Environment
- On-site position.
- Exposure to production-related noise, dust, temperature changes, fumes, and other manufacturing conditions.
- Use of measuring tools, powered hand tools, sanding equipment, carts, conveyors, and computers.
- Must be able to safely work while wearing required PPE.
