Production Technician / Maintenance Mechanic – Baton Rouge

FULL-TIME

$22 / Hr.

Monday – Friday 6 am – 2 pm

 

Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is currently seeking a reliable and hard-working Production Technician / Maintenance Mechanic for a local client in East Baton Rouge.  A recession-proof company is seeking a long-term employee for an evaluation hire.  Looking for long-term, career-minded individuals to grow with the company.  Upon successful completion of the evaluation period, the company offers Health Insurance, a 401 (k) match, and room for advancement based on performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

Production Duties

• Operate production equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor manufacturing processes and product quality.
• Load, unload, and move raw materials and finished products.
• Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Complete production documentation and reports accurately.

Maintenance Duties

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Assist with equipment repairs and installations.
• Inspect machinery and identify potential issues before failures occur.
• Maintain tools, parts inventory, and maintenance records.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and productivity.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1-3 years of industrial manufacturing, maintenance, or production experience.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and industrial environments.
• Strong attendance record and commitment to safety.

Preferred

• Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and production equipment.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Forklift certification.
• Technical school training or maintenance certifications.
