Machine Operator 

Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Machine Operator to join our production team in Johnston, RI. This position offers hands-on training in machine operation, production, and quality inspection. The ideal candidate will have mechanical aptitude, a strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate cold heading press machinery according to production requirements.
  • Ensure materials are available and properly prepared for production.
  • Make basic mechanical adjustments to ensure parts meet required specifications.
  • Monitor machinery and production processes to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Assist shop technicians and the materials clerk as needed.
  • Identify and report equipment issues, defective products, or production concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Perform additional production duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn machine operation.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and measuring equipment, or willingness to be trained.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or work throughout an 8-hour shift.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and take initiative.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, organization, and reliability.
  • Previous manufacturing or machine operating experience is a plus but not required.
