Express Employment Professionals is hiring on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company in Belton, TX that designs and produces heavy-duty equipment and attachments for construction, utility, and industrial applications. We are seeking an experienced Product/Mechanical Engineer to join a growing engineering team focused on innovative product development and continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys taking products from concept through production while working closely with manufacturing, quality, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

Product Design & Development

• Lead new product development projects from concept through production release.
• Design mechanical components, welded structures, assemblies, and equipment using SolidWorks.
• Create and maintain detailed manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, weldment drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Develop innovative, cost-effective solutions with a focus on performance, durability, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, quality, sales, and suppliers throughout the product lifecycle.
• Participate in design reviews, prototyping, testing, and product validation activities.

Engineering Analysis

• Perform engineering calculations to support product performance and safety requirements.
• Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using SolidWorks Simulation or similar software.
• Analyze stress, fatigue, weld integrity, deflection, and structural performance.
• Implement design improvements based on testing results and field feedback.

Documentation & Change Control

• Maintain engineering documentation and revision control.
• Manage product data using SolidWorks PDM or similar systems.
• Support Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
• Assist with developing and improving engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.

Manufacturing Support

• Partner with production teams to resolve design and manufacturing challenges.
• Support fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, and quality operations.
• Work closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure design requirements are met.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical design and product development experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong proficiency with SolidWorks
• Experience designing welded structural steel products and assemblies
• Working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Strong understanding of GD&T and ASME drafting standards
• Experience with engineering change management processes
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience designing construction equipment, heavy machinery, agricultural equipment, industrial attachments, or other off-highway equipment
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems
• Project management experience using Smartsheet, MS Project, or similar tools
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and power transmission components
• Experience supporting product testing and validation programs

Compensation & Benefits

• $85,000 - $130,000 annually (based on experience)
