Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Drafter III for a manufacturing company in Longview, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented drafting professional who enjoys working with engineering teams, supporting manufacturing operations, and developing accurate technical drawings.

 

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications using CAD software based on markups, blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions.

• Create and revise technical drawings, schematics, layouts, and bills of material.

• Collaborate with engineers, designers, production employees, and leadership to resolve design issues and ensure projects are completed on time.

• Review engineering specifications and drawings to identify potential design or production concerns.

• Modify designs to correct operating deficiencies and reduce manufacturing issues.

• Verify material dimensions to ensure proper fit and function.

• Maintain current CAD standards and organized libraries of production drawings and bills of material.

• Apply problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis and the 5 Whys.

• Support manufacturing initiatives and communicate project updates as needed.

Qualifications:

• Typically requires 4–7 years of related drafting experience.

• Associate degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent education preferred.

• Experience with CAD and CAE software.

• Manufacturing industry experience preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with production employees, engineers, and leadership.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and contribute to a team environment.

Work Environment:

• Primarily a general office environment, with time on the manufacturing plant floor as needed.

• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with changing priorities.
